CSL Behring controls the quality and safety of the starting material for our biotherapies by owning and operating ZLB Plasma—one of world’s largest and most sophisticated plasma collection networks.
CSL Behring biotherapies are manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities under stringent, controlled conditions. Each step of the manufacturing process contributes to the safety of our products. Over the last 25 years, the risk of virus transmission through plasma derived products has been nearly eliminated.
The elimination and inactivation of viruses in the manufacturing process of products is achieved by a series of processes. It starts with the selection of donors and testing of donations; proceeds with purification, virus inactivation and elimination and is completed by multiple levels of quality control and monitoring. These processes form our integrated safety system.
